NOVAS is a not for profit organisation and Approved Housing Body. We
work with single adults, couples, families and separated children
seeking asylum who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. We
provide a range of support services and accommodation. We have over
**Apply on the website** staff, and more than **Apply on the website**
services in Limerick, Dublin, Clare, Kerry, Cork and Tipperary
including residential homeless services, social housing and community
based services for tenancy sustainment, homelessness prevention,
mental health and recovery.
Situated in South County Dublin, Bellevue House is a six-bed
residential service for unaccompanied minors from outside the EU,
seeking asylum. It is a long-term specialised children?s service,
catering for minors between the ages of twelve and eighteen, and is
the only such facility in the state.
The children are encouraged to and supported in engaging fully with
their local community. Staff seek to provide a secure home-like
environment, in which young people can flourish. Engaging in
extra-curricular activities is endorsed and day trips and holidays are
planned, in a bid to provide happy and fulfilled teenagers and develop
responsible and participatory adults
NOVAS is a Trauma Informed practice organisation and the principles of
collaboration, diversity, respect and trust are embedded in our way of
working together. Our services are provided through support of our
partners in local government through the Local Authorities, HSE, and
other donors and funders
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

* Minimum Level 7 (or fourth year student in Social Care) on National
Framework of Qualifications in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in
Social Care or a related discipline. Related disciplines are:
Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Youth and Community
Work, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching and Nursing
* Experience of working with young people or in a similar
environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to utilise IT systems effectively
